Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Caught in the middle

A friend of mine has gotten himself into a bad relationship. His boyfriend turned out to be into cocaine and has stolen checks from him and is writing them out to people forging his signature. My friend wants to turn him into the police but is afraid to because his boyfriend has been living in his home and doesn't know if he has hidden any drugs on his property. He doesn't want to get in trouble for something that he hasn't been a part of. What would you suggest him to do?

Lock the guy out, clean the house from top to bottom, call the cops.

Re: Caught in the middle

In addition to Atty. Hochberg's suggestion, you might think of telling the police both about the checks and about the drugs. It will be worse if you turn him in about the checks and he claims that the drugs are yours and the police show up with a warrant to search, and then charge you.

If you tell the police everything, it's much less likely that you will end up being charged for something you didn't do. Just make sure that your fingerprints aren't on any drug paraphenalia.
