Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

I am having charges pressed agains me for theft of a handgun and do not know what to do. The story is as follows.....A little over a year ago my ex and I purchased handguns legally, hers in her name and mine in my name. She kept her giun at my house because of her having a child. In April of 2013 I was going through a bad gambling problem and ended up selling hers and my gun without her permission. I did tell her after the gun was sold what I did though. Well we broke up and I ended up getting back together with my former girlfriend. When the ex in question found this out she went crazy and I ended up having to call the police on her because of her actions. The same day I called the police on her she called them on me, after the fact, about the so called stolen gun. Now she wants charges pressed against me for theft. Do I have any recourse here or am I going to jail? Please advise and thanks.

You took something that wasn't yours and sold it. That's theft. Whether or not you go to jail is dependent on factors that you didn't state like any prior criminal convictions and the like.
