Re: check fraud

Well, Mr. Begley just doesn't know that what you did IS a felony. It's forgery, and forgery is a felony in Pennsylvania. The charges would be bad check (misdemeanor) and forgery (felony).

You will be charged, and you will have to hire an attorney and try to work out a deal with the district attorney.

Re: check fraud

They were not your friend, friends do not do that to each other. Hopefully you will be tried and convicted. You are lucky it is not a felony.

Re: check fraud

Since you have posted this online you have admitted the crime. The best thing to do now is to go to the local prosecutor and ask that the matter be handled by civil compromise. Before you do, pay your friend back the $200, unless your friend had the bank reverse the charge since it was a forgery, in which case pay the money back to bank.

Hope for the best and don't do things like that again. It's not only immoral and illegal, but it is dumb.
