Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
Is this considered crime with a gun?
My 19 y.o. son, who lives with his
mother, was just arrested for
possession of and selling marijuana
to minors while on probation for
previous drug-related offenses. He
pled guilty to the previous drug
crimes, and charges were reduced
from felonies to misdemeanors. The
police had a search warrant and
raided the apartment he & his
mother live in, breaking down the
door as my son did not respond to
police commands to answer/open the
door for a search warrant.
Apparently, his mother was not at
home. The police detective and
officers found a large quantity of
marijuana and drug paraphernalia -
scales, grow lamps, etc., a few
thousand dollars cash, along with a
loaded handgun which was not on
my son's person, in the apartment.
Because of the loaded handgun,
would this be considered crime with
or involving a gun?
