Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

What can I do?

I should be going to court pretty soon as I'm on probation and you can pretty much say I'll be in violation in a few short weeks and I guess a hearing will be scheduled to see if it can be extended. I am going to see a public defender as to what my chances are for an extension as I am very behind in restitution payments. But I'm engaged and my fiance has no idea I'm on probation. I'm getting married next March. What would I have to do to be able to move out of state while being on the ARD program or will I have to stay in PA until the probation is up and restitution is paid? Also, what are the chances of an extension if I've been out of trouble the whole time I've been on probation? Like I said, my fiance knows nothing of my awful past and I'd like to keep it that way. Any advice would be appreciated.

Getting an extension to pay costs and restitution should not be very dificult. You need permission to leave the state when you are on probabtion. You should discuss with the Public Defender what documents need to be filed.

Re: What can I do?

First and foremost you need to retain legal counsel to protect your interests and to advise you. Second you need to disclose to this attorney everything related to your case and finally I would highly advise talking with your fiance about these legal matters, if you don't do it now and you are convicted, or she finds out from a friend your relationship will greatly suffer!

Sincerely,
