Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

criminal charges from 23 years ago

23 years ago I was areested for theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy. I was put on probation and had to pay a fine and restitution, which I did. Now 23 years later the court that handled this case is digging threw old cases and came across mine and is claiming I still owe them $500.00, and if I don't pay this they could press charges, issue a warrant for my arrest, or suspend my drivers license. Is this true. How can I prove 23 years later that I paid this?

Re: criminal charges from 23 years ago

you can file a motion in the miscellaneous or motions court in your county in the court of common pleas and ask for a hearing. if you are over a certain age, you can also apply for an expungement. the expunction would clear your record.
