Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Criminal Mischief?

I have been issued a summons for criminal mischief and have been accused wrongfully. While renting an apartment at school, road signs were hung up on the walls by my roomates. I found one by the dumpster one day and decided to add it to our collection. One day while I nor my roomates were at home, a police officer came to the door because he was in the area and answering a noise complaint from another apartment. He said that he happened to see the road signs while through our living room window. A friend, who was staying at the apartment, let him in and he proceeded to take all the signs. We all received a summons and fines for criminal mischief. My roomates eventually admitted to illegally taking their signs. However, I was issued the same citation and summons before the police even spoke to me about my situation. They told me to take it to court. Do I have a chance on winning this case? It seems so unfair!

Re: Criminal Mischief?

I believe that an attorney can either get an acquital or a pre-trial diversion (Dissmissal with satisfaction) Under a dismissal with satisfaction you would pay court costs of approximately $100 and the charges would be dismissed. I offer free consultations.
