Death at home

what are the legal ramifications of someone who does not report a spouse who died of natural causes and say, buried him in the backyard. it is for a school social work project.

Darned if I know and I can't seem to find an answer. It seems to me that at least the person who failed to report the death would be a suspect in a homicide investigation.
