Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Decision from parole board

I have a friend who got locked up for posession of a narcotic. He was on parole at the time so they locked him up. He had his violation hearing 3 weeks ago. How long does the decision from the parole board in harrisburg usually take?? He's just sitting in jail waiting for that letter stating if he can go home and wait for his hearing or if he has to wait in there till his hearing. Nobody is telling him anything. Can you help me out and give me an estimation of how long that decision takes. Thanks!

Re: Decision from parole board

My expereince is ususally 4-6 weeks. Someone shold be able to make a couple calls on behalf of your friend. Call his lawyer & see what he/she can do...or check with the local public defender's office--ask for the department that handles parole violations--and ask them--even a secretary may know the answer.
