Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Defense Attorney

If you go to a preliminary hearing and the judge doesn't like the attorney (for whatever reason) will that have an adverse affect on the attorney's client's case, especially in a case where the plaintiff does not show up two times at the preliminary hearing.

Re: Defense Attorney

If the complainant does not appear, the case will eventually be discharged. In preliminary hearings in Philadelphia county, there is usually a different judge at each listing. While the possiblity exists of having the same judge every time you go to court, the main idea is that regardless of your lawyer, if the complainant fails to appear the case will eventually be discharged. The only time an individual lawyer's personality should have a real effect on the outcome of your case is either in a close call/arguement with that judge, or before a jury. feel free to email.
