Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
First Degree Murder
Is it possible for an accomplice that was a victim (being forced to help) in a murder case to get a lighter sentence than the person who actually premeditated and committed the murder? Or would they most like recieve the same sentance as the person who committed the murder?

Re: First Degree Murder
Sure, it might be possible, depending upon the judge presiding over the matter and the persuasiveness of the proof being offered in the defendant's behalf as to his or her diminished role in the commission of the homicide.
Re: First Degree Murder
The answer depends upon the type of murder conviction. For example, in PA a first degree murder conviction can only result in a life or death sentence, regardless of the level of involvement.
In other types of murder convictions, lesser sentences are possible and reasons for mitigation should always be investigated by you and your attorney.
