Dog Searches

Can a cop that stops you for not staying at the stop sign long enough for him, search your car with a drug dog?

I don't think there is probable cause for that type of search incident to a traffic stop but, then again, I think systematic roadblocks violate the Fourth Amendment. You should have your attorney move to suppress the evidence if you decide to take the case to trial rather than accept ARD or enter a plea.

The dog may be able to walk around the car, but not "search" inside the car without your consent.
