if you get convicted of a drug crime and you cooperate with police , what are the chances of you getting a suspended sentence if you are a first time offender

A lot depends on the particular County that you are in. Accelerative Rehabilitative Disposition is probably what you are looking at provided it was mere possession of marijuana or drug paraphenalia. If you were caught selling heroin or coccaine to an undercover cop, though, your chances of probation alone without jail time are not good.
