due process right to a speedy trial
my son is incarcerated and had not been brought to trial.he had violated his probation thereforth cannot be granted bail.do 180days to be trialed apply in his case?

I think the answer is yes but you need to check with local counsel. Defendants often sign waivers of the rule in order to obtain a continuance. I don't think the detainer gives the prosecution more time to try him.
