Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
extradition & charges
My boyfriend was arrested in NY for a warrant from PA. The charges are for a simple assault & vandalism. NY has held him for 2 weeks so far...How long can NY hold him for PA? And what kind of sentencing are we looking at for the charges?

These are misdemeanor charges and although a New York attorney should address your question, I would be surprised if New York authorities would be entitled to detain your boyfriend for longer than 72 hours before being required to release him in the situation you've described.
