Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Extradition from New Jersey to PA

My fiance was arrested in New Jersey during a routine traffic stop for outstanding PA Warrant. He did not recieve new charges and is being held for PA. According to the lawyer I talked to New Jersey has 10 days to give him an extradition hearing or let him go. Tomorrow will be his tenth day so my questions are. 1 Is it 10 days or 10 business days. 2 If he dosent get his hearing what do we do to get him released and 3 what happens to the charges in PA if he is let go are they still outstanding or do they get dropped.

Re: Extradition from New Jersey to PA

He's presently being held on a "detainer." Under the Uniform Criminal Extradition Act which applies in New Jersey the detainer is valid for thirty (30) days.
