False Accusation of Retail Theft-PA

14 year old son was accused of attempted retail theft, had a summary hearing where store manager lied (changed her story) and cop allowed her perjury. Public defender refused to defend. Judge refused to hear witnesses and found son guilty. We want to appeal it. Public defender will still not defend. Trying to find a pro bono or low income attorney to defend with no luck. How do I find low income criminal defense?

you can apply for a public defender again. also, in some counties there exists a list of set price for lawyers. in philadelphia, for example, there is a $750 list for cases like your question. you never know, keep asking at the court house.
