is it possible for a federal inmate to be released early

Federal Inmates cannot be paroled as federal parole does not currently exist. Inmates do receive credit for good time at the rate of 54 days off for every 12 consecutive months good time. Also, federal inmates are often put in a half-way house prior to their release to supervised release.
