felony charge

i was arrested because i had a registered firearm in my car but i had no permit to carry... whats some of the likely action the courts would take for this?...i have NO prior record.

If you are otherwise eligible to have a permit, the charge is only a misdemeanor. There may also be a defense to the case based on the exceptions to the statute. Take a look at 18 PS 6106(b) and see if your situation fits.

I just had a similar case which resulted in a period of probation. That's no guarantee, however. A lot depends on the individual facts and the individual Judge hearing the case. You should talk to an attorney in your area because, as Mr. Hochberg indicates, you may have a defense. One thing that kind of jumps out at me is that you indicate you were arrested because you had a registered firearm in your car. How did the police know that you had a registered firearm in your car? Was it in open sight? Did they request consent to search?
