Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Felony Expunged

I was charged with felony 3 Theft by deception in 97 and failed to pay off my restitution by the time my probation was over. I have since paid it off but was convicted since i didnt finish in time. This was back in 2000 of the conviction. I am wonder if i am able to get this expunged now since it has been 7 year and what all is involved. I have an ok job but i have lost out on many other great jobs because of this and I want to move ahead in my life but with this on my background ''which i know is my foolish mistake'' I am having many difficulties finding that position. I am in Pennsylvania and I have heard mixed opinions if I could get this expunged. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Felony Expunged

You can get mixed opinions on this from different attorneys even within the same county depending on when their last experience was with expungements. To me it seems to go back and forth over periods of time. There are times in my County when you could get almost anything expunged and times when I've had to advise my clients that their only chance of clearing their records was through a pardon by the Governor unless they were found not guilty and there was no probable cause for the arrest. You are better off exploring the issue with a local attorney who has recent experience.
