Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
Fiancee Arrested for Abuse
My fiancee was arrested for abuse at my college. He broke a number of htings in my room including my laptop, microwave and vase, but never put his hands on me. The reason the police arrested him was because of the fact that i had a fat lip which i stated then as a cold sore. Since, that happened i was admitted to the hospital and discharged with papers for no signs of abuse. I also have two notorized documents one of which states he never hit and the other that the mark on my lip was a cold sore of which i have two. this document included pictures. So what i wanna know is after the hearing to decide if there is enough evidence.. can they really move on .. and if they can.. can i be kept from him

If you are going to testify he did not hit you and you have documentation that it was not a hit but a cold sore, I don't see the case proceeding.
Re: Fiancee Arrested for Abuse
First of all you really need to question being in a relationship with a man that needs to destroy items to show his manhood. This behavior is disgraceful and I highly recommend you seek counseling you may find yourself in a co-dependent relationship, one that you should terminate ASAP.
As it relates to the charges, yes they may proceed, now whether you testify is another story. However, you may be forced under oath to do so, and if you were to or perjure (lie under oath) yourself, you would be held over in jail on your own criminal violations!
This is a slippery slope one you really need to run away from!

I agree with Atty. Johns on the legal issues in the case. However, I would question why you would want to be with someone who is obviously violent. One day he's throwing around your stuff and breaking it, and next it will be you.
