Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

fraud?

I cashed a check for a ''friend'' who signed her stepfathers name. The amount of the check was for $78.00. I feel really guilty about cashing it. I have given her $10.00 of the 78.00. I would like to give her mother the rest of the money. My question is do i implicate my friend or just fess up? I have been friends with her for over 15yrs. I would like to tell her mother and stepfather the whole truth. What criminal charges could I face?

Re: fraud?

You will face conspiracy and forgery charges (felonies) if the police get involved. You are the master of your own conscience, and only you can decide what to do in this situation. If you were my client, I would generally not advise you to incriminate yourself and open yourself to prosecution.
