Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
I have a friend who was convicted of theft and was told he had to serve 2 years in prison.
He chose not to go to his sentencing hearing and fled the country.
After a few days over seas, he realized his mistake and now wants to return to face his punishment.
1. How much worse is his situation now that he skipped the sentencing date and left the country?
2. Is there anything he can do at this point to get his life back on track?
Thank you.

I would highly suggest that he contact the attorney that he used to handle this matter.

It will definitely not help. He should get in touch with the PD or whomever represented him. He should consider retaining private counsel to deal with this. Feel free to call our office to discuss our rates.
