Gun charges are unique from other criminal charges in that a person can be prosecuted locally, by the Montgomery County DA's office, or federally (FBI). Had he/she been charged with the same offense before? Does he/she have a prior record. Your friend needs to discuss this and more with professional criminal defense attorney ASAP. He/she may contact me.
