not sure what happens

a friend and i were in the parking lot of walmart and a man approached us and handed us 4 packs of unopened scratch off lottery tickets we took them he said to go scan the barcode on any lottery machine and my friend went and got them activated and i helped him cash them come monday we find out they are stolen what am i liable for and what is he liable for what are possible charges also i am on probation now can i be put in jail bein only 17

Your question doesn't indicate why you are on probation. If you were placed on probation as a juvenile you are not a convict, you are merely delinquent, juvenile probation is different than adult probation. If you have been caught the charges will most likely be for receiving stolen property. That may or may not involve commitment to a juvenile facility depending on the Judge and your past juvenile offenses. The maximum term of commitment is four years or the same as the maximum sentence for an adult offender for the same offense whichever is less. The maximum for an adult would depend on the value of the lottery tickets. Juvenile probation could extend until you are 21. I'm not sure of what the outcome would be if you violate juvenile probation after reaching the age of 18.
