Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

gym locker theft

Hello,

I have been a victim of a gym theft at Bally's Total Fitness club in King of Prussia, PA. Somebody cut my lock and stole my jeans that contained my wallet and most of my life in them. Police doesn't feel a need to investigate even though the guy went shopping to RadioShack which most likely had the video tape of the incident. I am desperate to find out what legal actions I can take and whether or not I can pursue this case against my gym. I didn't sign any waivers of liability, but I am not sure if I have a case here. Gym denies any liability so I am at a complete loss right now. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer me. Thank you very much,

Leo

Re: gym locker theft

You can file an action against the club for negligence and obtain the video tape, if it exists, on discovery directed to a third party. If you have a videotape of someone stealing your wallet, it is pretty difficult for the cops to ignore it.
