Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Hello,

Recently I filed a police report with the State police on a guy who was harassing me, making threats on my life, and even physically pushed me in a gas station parking lot. About 2 and half weeks prior to this, I filed a police report with the local police regarding similar threats. The State Police investigated the situation and filed harassment charges against the guy because they took a look at the video camera tapes from the gas station and took into account the previous police report. The guy who is threatening me is currently on probation for similar charges filed against him approximately 2 years ago for assaulting his wife at the time. The charges he was found guilty of are Terroristic Threats with Intent to Terrorize Another and Simple Assault. My question is that because he is still on probabtion from before, could this possibly result in any jail time for this guy? The reason I ask is because of an underlying factor: I'm currently friends with his ex-girlfriend with whom he has a child. As much as I want to see him get what he deserves, my worry is for the child. I don't want her to be without her father, but in the same aspect, I don't want him to keep threatening to kill me. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Also, if he does do jail time, would that possibly result in the loss of his job? If he does lose his job, I'm worried that the child will not be getting enough monetary support because her mother doesn't make enough money to support the child on her own. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Tim

It might result in a probation violation. That might send him to jail to serve out his sentence. If he does jail time it's up to his employer as to whether he keeps his job.

Every criminal charge ends with "which is against the peace and dignity of the Commonwealth."

If the punishment he's gotten so far hasn't convinced him to clean up his act then maybe the punishment needs to be more severe.

While it's admirable to care about what happens to his child so what clearly he doesn't care.

There was an old police drama called Beretta (the police man's name not the gun) with a tag line "If you can't do the time don't do the crime"

Clearly this guy for what ever reason does crime so he gets what the courts think he should get. Personally, a person with this sort of anger or violence problem shouldn't be around children.
