Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

My husband got arrested for driving under suspension for the second time and has his probation Violated. He normally does not drive but this day I was very sick and Had to go to the hospital so he went less then a block to call off at work so he could take me, Im 33 yrs old and have very poor health. I had a stroke a few months ago, advanced graves disease and a tumor 12cm x12cm x 16cm on my abdoman that needs surgery ASAp. My oldest daughter just had major back surgery in oct. I am not medically able to work. How much jail is he looking at and what can I do to help? finacially he needs to be home. Please help, any suggestions are very appreciated.

Driving is a privilege, and I don't know why his DL was originally suspended. Go to court, bring witnesses, explain that he had not been driving, but it was an emergency, but what does, "he went less then a block to call off at work", mean? This makes no sense. If there is an emergency, you drive someone to the hospital, you don't first drive to work. Why didn't he call work? If your story is BS, the judge will figure it out . . . .
