Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
Judgement
My mother who is 81 just received a notice of Motin for Judgement from a credit card company. she has been under advisement by a Debt Consolidation Co. She has not refused to pay her debt. She has offered a lump sum of $2000 plus monthly payments to pay her debt of app. $8600.00. My question is can they place a judgement on her home if her home is owned jointly by herself, her grandson and her daughter? IsCan youtell me what a judgement is and is it the same as a lien?

Re: Judgement
This is not a criminal law question.
However, a judgment is placed on the person, and can be executed against that person's personal property (i.e., stuff). Not jointly owned property. They can sell her furniture, belongings, jewelry, etc.
