Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

A juvenile charged as an adult

A friend has a 16 year old son who has been charged as an adult in a criminal case. Is there any way his case can be reduced to juvenile court after the adult charges are filed? This child has no other arrest record and is a good student. He also says he is innocent. My friend will not say what his son is charged with. Are there any cases where charges have been changed from adult to juvenile and what were the circumstances

We really need to talk. I've been a criminal defense attorney in Philadelphia for more than 15 years. Whatever can be done, I will do to protect the accused.

in certain circumstances the case can be remanded to juvenile court. However, I can not give an opinion unless I know the charges. If your freind wants advice, have him/her contact me. We deal with this type of situation on a regular basis.

You have to petition for "decertification." In certain crimes juveniles are automatically certified to be tried as adults. Your friend needs to hire an attorney because these are usually serious offenses.
