is there anything a lawyer can do to speed up a hearing for post conviction relief my son has been waiting for almost 7 yrs

Apparently not. If he has waited 7 years how much of his sentence is left?
There are time limits on filing for post conviction relief. So if the filing was timely then there should of been a hearing by now.
