Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

I went to a local bar with my friend who was under age. We sat down and the bartender didn't card either of us. Again I am 21 but he is still a minor. My friend then gave me $5 and I bought us a shot using my bank card. All of the sudden he punched me in the face for no reasoning. I want to pursue legal matter due the the severity of the physical injuries. However, could I get into trouble because I bought him a shot, even though I didn't provide him with the liquor?

You did provide him with liquor. You paid for it! Whether he gave you money or not that is a violation of the liquor law!

So this would be a good point to drop it.

Remember: Obey the law! Think of them as hints. As in I wouldn't do that if I were you.
