Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

local bar owner sent me a letter stating I damaged a door at his establishment. The letter stated he contacted the police a filed a report and he filed paper work with the P.L.C.B. He goes on to say "In an effort not to cause you any public embarrassment, or created any situations with your employer I am not going to sign the police report if I am paid in full within five days after your receive this letter. If not paid in full within five days after you receive this letter charges will be filed and an arrest warrant will immediately be issused by the cambria township police department" Charges were inevitably filed and now I have a prelim for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. According to the police department they were notified by the bar owner the next morning and when I left the bar their were approximately 20 - 30 patrons that have not walked through that door yet.

It is my belief that the bar owner is retaliating against me because I cancelled all my dj gigs after he cut my price and I told him he was a piece of shit. Is the letter he sent me a form of extortion?

No, that would not be extorrtion. If you haven't already retained a lawyer, then I would suggest that you do so right away. It is important that you have representation at your prelim.
