Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

''location of incident''

A party was held at a camp and there was underage drinking involved and a couple had sex. The girl has decided several months later to press charges of rape.

She doesn't know who the camp belonged to but one of the people there does but will not tell the police the location or the owners name. If this person does not reveal the location or name of owner is there anything that the police can do to them for refusing to tell? They are a minor and are co-operating with the police in every other aspect.

Re: ''location of incident''

Dear Sir or Madam:

You do not have to speak to police and in fact you should not if you feel you may be guilty of a crime yourself. However, if the truth of the statement is not incriminating to you it is possible that you will be called to testify at a judicial hgearing at which point you must answer the question. The 5th Amendment protects a persons right not to make incriminating staements against themselves. However, it does not protect you against the right to testify against the interests of someone else. It is usually best to cooperate if you are guilty of no crime.
