Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
Marijuana Charges
I recently was arrested with my one friend in York, PA. We had a total of about 1/8 oz of marijuana on us, and he had a piece. We don't know what we're being charged with exactly, yet, because they're waiting on lab results from what they took. So, we won't be getting any info for about a month or two. We were never given our rights at any time, and a search was started in my car before the officer asked for concent (we had gotten in our car, and the cops pulled up. so it wasn't a traffic stop). I've never gotten into trouble before, so this is all very new and scary to me. I don't know what I could be facing (as far as charges go, and what will happen to me), and I have no clue what I could do to get them dropped/knocked down/expunged. I've heard about ARD, but that still doesn't look good to me. I was planning to graduate in the Spring and become a teacher, but it seems like I'll have to make a major career change very late in college because I would run out time before clearing my record in order to find a job. I'm not even into that stuff, it was a wrong place at a wrong time, and now I fear my career is over right before it starts. I'm looking for any and all help/advice. My life has officially been flipped upside down

Give our offices a call. We handle cases like these for a reasonable cost.
Re: Marijuana Charges
Well, if you can't afford to consider the ARD, your only option is to vigorously defend against the charges, whatever they may turn out to be....
In my estimation, a good criminal defense attorney will cost you between 2,000 and 3,500 to bring a case like this to trial, but you may fimd that it is even more expensive than that. Do you still want a trial???
If you want, you can get in touch to discuss this matter in detail. I may be able to come up with a few more options if you give me more info...
