Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

marijuana in the mail

My roomate had weed mailed to him and signed for it. The delivery guy pulled out cuffs. My roomate lets them in. There are weed products all over the living room. The cop tells us basically that if we give up everything in the place then he will cooperate with us...we did what he asked. He is supposed to call me monday afternoon...what are my options?!?!

Re: marijuana in the mail

This situation is what we attorneys call a "bad thing."

One issue is whether this case has been transferred to Federal jurisdiction due to crossing state lines and the use of the mail. If it has, it will be a case of much greater magnitute than you are probably aware, and you can be drawn into it through a conspiracy charge.

The positive aspects of the case (if any) are that (1) the stuff was mailed to your roommate, and (2) you had a roommate (meaning, he is involved in things which you may not be). The negative, of course, is the fact that both of you live there with pot all over the place and your friend had a quantity mailed to him.

In any event, it is important to address this matter seriously - and quickly - before you end up doing time.

We are an established defense firm, and we were recently selected as Pennsylvania "Super Lawyers," meaning the top five percent of attorneys in Pennsylvania. We have handled many cases of this type and would be pleased to discuss assisting you in this matter.
