Forever.
The only way to have a misdemeanor not be on your record is if the governor or the president grants you a pardon.
Also, you may be able to avoid a conviction at all with ARD or Section 17. You can then get the arrest expunged and you would have no record.

If you have suffered a conviction for a misdemeanor. It will stay "on your record" forever. Only a pardon from the Governor can clean your record of a conviction. If you have not been convicted then a simple expungement can clean your record. You can go to the PA state Police website and request your record online. Then, you can see what info employers can see.
