Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Parole Violation

In 06 my boyfriend got a DUI, was put on parole, fines and was told to complete highway safety courses. In Cct 07 he got a parole violation for possession of marijuana, was sentenced to jail for almost 2 months, released with more fines, more parole time and told to complete a drug eval. They told him he had 2 years from his release to complete all his guidelines (including his prior conviction from 06). In jan he enrolled into a technical institute for computers, and it ended in May until next fall. He then started working (we have a baby on the way and we've been getting all the essentials she'll need). Last month he was told by his p.o. he has a court date this month for parole violation because of his fines and not completing the highway safety courses. As soon as he was told this he's paid about 300 towards his fines and we're setting up the courses for highway safety this week. Which leads me to this question, where is the violation coming from if they told him he has 2 years to complete and pay everything, and he's never had a 'hot' urine test? Any and all advice would be extremely helpful. Thank you.

Re: Parole Violation

It sounds to me like his period of probation may have been shorter than the two years. It probably just means that his period of probation will be extended until the fines are fully paid and the courses are completed.
