Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

At a party a female student jumped at me intiating a fight and in self defense I punched her to get her away from me and obviously in order to defend myself. I'm worried she might press charges. Should I contact the police and explain the situation?

Answer provided by attorney Michael Kotik criminal lawyer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I would not suggest contacting the police without a lawyer. Also, at this time she has not pressed charges so you want to consider the fact that by calling the police you might be throwing fuel into the fire. I am assuming this was a party with other people, so I am guessing there are witnesses that can corroborate your story. I suggest contacting a criminal defense attorney to discuss your options and then making a decision whether or not to go the police.
