Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

pfa

I filed a pfa against my husband and now the state police filed criminal charges. He is being charged with simple assault, entrapment, terroristic threat and another I cannot think of. I do not want him to go to jail just to get couseling and help. If he goes to jail we will lose our house, medical, etc,. He is not a bad guy just needs couseling. He is a first time offender but they said he could face 1 to 5 years in jail. It was to be tried in front of our local magistrate and now was moved back to the original judge who granted the pfa. He has a criminal attorney. I am the state's witness but don't want to be. I never would of obtained the pfa if I knew they would prosecute him criminally.

How do I help him? Do I have to testify?
