Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Police has little proof

My friend is about to go to trial for a drug possesion charge the police who picked him up on the charge are stating that they used a confidential informant to make a buy off of him and they have the marked money as evidence of the drug transaction but they don't have any actual drugs they are also stating that they started investigating him two days before they arrested him but my friend was in a halfway house at the time which prohibited him from coming outside on the date that there saying they started the investigation my question is how is that possible and how long can they prosecute for with only having alledged marked money but no actual drugs

Re: Police has little proof

This is a question we hear all the time, "how can they prosecute me with no evidence?" The answer is that they can prosecute you for the Kennedy assassination and if they don't have any evidence the jury will find you not guilty. In other words, that is why we have trials. If you fight, and there really is no evidence, you will be found not guilty.
