Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Previous conviction on an overturned law

I was arrested in 1972 for solicitation to commit sodomy. The arrest took place at a Beach in Erie Pennsylvania, by a police department that was later found to be using entrapment to arrest people for this charge. I plead no-contest to the charge and paid a $50.00 fine. My question is that the sodomy laws in Pennsylvania were overturned and I wanted to know how to go about having my record cleared since it is keeping me from getting many jobs that I am extremely qualified for.

Re: Previous conviction on an overturned law

You will need to seek a pardon from the Governor of Pennsylvania, this is because at the time you plead guilty to the charges they were the law of the land, furthermore you cannot expunge these records because you did plead guilty.

Contact the Governor's Office in Harrisburg for information on receiving a pardon.
