Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Privat Criminal Complaint in PA

I was served a notice from Dauphin County, PA stating there was a criminal complaint against me for not filing my local taxes in that county. Although I have always filed federal and state taxes, I was completely unaware that I was obligated to file local taxes for the 6 yrs I resided there. The notice states that I have to respond with a plea of guilty or not guilty. I don't want to have a criminal record although it is true that I did not file. Should I get legal representation or is this matter treated similar to a traffic ticket?

Re: Privat Criminal Complaint in PA

You should immediately get representation in Dauphin County. Criminal Complaints, even if they should properly be civil, are serious matters.
