Re: Probation
While on probation, your rights are limited. You have to submit to certain procedures, i.e., search of home, urines screens etc. as a condition of probation. P.O.s work for the Judge in which you went in front of for your plea/trial. The P.O. is gathering info for him/her.
You can pay a lawyer to be there, but if you fail to provide certain answers, yourprobation can be revoked or you r refusal can lead to a violation of probation. Eventually, you will have to go in front of the Judge for resentencing etc. A lawyer could only really be expected to protect concerning questions not relevant to the current probation, but those opportunties would be limited.
For more info try to go to Findlaw or similar site and search Title 42 for Judiciary procedures.
Good Luck.
