Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

I was recently employed for Dollar General in PA for 3 days. I stole $40 and thought I wouldnt get caught. I got a phone call froma police officer a few weeks after I quit. I went in and he said they had me on tape stealing the $40. I confessed and was cooperative. He didn't arrest me. He said I would receive his report in about a week in the mail and I would have to go to the magistrate. He said to have the $40 with me to pay back. He said it would show up as a misdemeanor???

Will I have a record?? If I do, can I have the misdemeanor expunged?? Also I just started a great job and feels like a fresh start. Can my new employer find about this in any way???

Well you did so there should be no consequences? Why would it be fair to potential to hide from them what you did? You worked for some place 3 days and you stole $40 and now you wish to hide that from future employers? Part of knowing that if you did what you did you would be fired and probably have a very hard time is part of the deterrence. That is motivation not to steal.

Yes you'll have a well deserved record. Eventually it will be expunged. They will find out. If it was such a great job why did you do it?
