Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

I reside in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. The police have asked me to bring my 16 yr. old son to the police station for questioning. They said that he is part of an ongoing investigation and that they did not want to go to his school and pull him out to spare the embarrassment. They would not furnish any other information. Neither my son nor his friends has any idea what it's all about.

Should I take him to the station today as they instructed?

Should he answer any questions?

Can they threaten to arrest him or embarrass him at school if we don't co-operate?

One way or another, it sounds like the police are going to interview your son. Whether it is voluntary or as the result of an arrest, they are going to ask him questions. Perhaps it is best to have him answer questions with a lawyer present if there even the smallest inclination that this involves something criminal he may have inadvertently gotten involved in... for example, "sexting" is common in children of that age, and though it is meant to be "funny", it is illegal.
