Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

retainer fee

My husband gave a lawyer $1000 retainer fee to represent me in a criminal action and the lawyer accepted the fee and agreed to represent me. My husband called the attorney whom he knows very well and asked for the retainer fee back. Can my husband get back he retainer fee for my legal counsel because the attorney called me and said he was refunding it? Is the lawyer violating some ethical principle?

If the lawyer is willing to give it back to your husband then he can.

I think your issue is with your husband not the lawyer.
