Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Rights of a District Justice

Does a District Justice in the state of PA have the right to black out the name of a minor who is a victim in a sexual abuse criminal case and not give it to the defense attorney or civil attorney representing the child? Doesn't the defense attorney have the right to know the name of the child victimized by his client?

Re: Rights of a District Justice

The defendant has the right to know the name, but not until after formal arraignment in the court of common pleas. This is a hearing that occurs after the DJ holds the case for court.
