Search Warrants and Safes

Is a seperate search warrant needed for a locked safe if it is in a house that is being searched with a proper warrent.

the answer depends on the language of the first warrant on the actual warrant itself. also, the police MAY be able to seize the safe and take it to the police station and conduction an inventory search on the safe with no warrant.

usually, the cops just get a second warrant.
