What happens if i shoot someone across a river?

What happens if i am on the pennsylvania side of the delaware river, and i shoot someone in new york, on the other side. What state would i be tried in?

Either or both. But, you couldn't be convicted/sentenced for the SAME crime in two states.

You could be tried in both states. Typically states claim jurisdiction for offenses which start or end within their territorial limits.
